CFTC Chair Caroline Pham Expected To Join MoonPay After Departure
Caroline Pham, acting chair of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), is rumored to join crypto payments company MoonPay once a new chairman of the regulator is confirmed. The speculation was revealed by Crypto In America host Eleanor Terrett in an August 25 social media post.
MoonPay declined to comment on the rumors, while the CFTC stated that Pham will return to the private sector once a new chairman is confirmed. The agency emphasized her commitment to executing the President’s agenda on crypto in the interim.
Pham has publicly expressed her intention to leave the CFTC upon the appointment of a new head. President Donald TRUMP nominated financial manager Brian Quintenz for the position in February, but his confirmation remains pending.
